Zig Zag

A little snoop historical inquiry for this week's Derelict Sunday and I came upon this rather lovely old door - gracing what must have been a cow shed once I think. I was intrigued by the decoration and its history plainly carved on its exterior. The zig zag must be decorative, it's had a fair few layers of paint, the door knob has gone replaced by a now rusty latch - actually two latches, and many many nails seem to have been driven into it over the years. It's now hanging precariously off a single hinge. It's companion in the next shed, once a vivid blue, has since collapsed, door knob intact.

Many thanks to Marlieske for hosting DS for April, I shall be in the hot seat for May so please get out and about looking for a bit of delightful dereliction - remember you can submit a pic any day of the week - just tag DS80 for next week's offering. I'm going to go mad and suggest a theme - Windows - you know I like them, in any shape, form, colour or state of decrepitude; country windows, town windows, broken windows, castle windows, hovel windows, farm windows, lacy windows, shuttered windows, no windows, through the window, windows into your souls even!! Get exploring.
