Nymph

This strange looking creature is the nymph of a Wheel Bug. pselliopus barberi, which is sitting on a leaf on the back fence. The red is its abdomen which is held in an elevated position, and from my observation it hasn't got much in it. This is a predator or assassin bug and can give humans a painful bite.
