The Accident Man, Peters Village
I really needed the long weekend - had an exhausting week work-wise. A new record for a late deadline for my work photography was reached - the sale I was working on went five weeks past it's original deadline!
Today was the first day I felt like getting out with my own camera to take some more shots for my project. What I've found as I've gone along is that I'm more fascinated by the incompleteness of Peters Village - the temporary sights, shapes, forms and incongruities rather than the generic housing scheme it will eventually turn into. It has very little, apart from the amazing sculpture from one of my earlier blips, that marks it out as referencing it's previous history. The houses are probably almost identical to those in other new projects right across the country. Where is the sense of trying to do something different, something that will stand out? Imagination, a sense of style or uniqueness seem to all but have disappeared. It would be okay if they houses they were putting up were at least built to a very good standard but in a lot of new builds that doesn't seem to be the case either. It's all a bit sad and apathetic.
See extra shots for a couple of more images.
