Tour de Yorkshire
Local excitement as the Tour de Yorkshire passed along the main road above our village. (The main Huddersfield to Sheffield road.) This also probably explains why they resurfaced the road a few months ago. We've decided that we need to order a major cycling event to take a route along a few more of our local roads. One or two of them are little more than cart tracks now. This kind of action photography is not really my thing, so I researched a few tips on line and didn't try to be too clever and came away with a few images I liked - finding it quite difficult to choose. It wasn't the most exciting of the stretches along the route but it was walkable from home. Unfortunately I managed to get the team there TOO early so they got bored and eventually tormented Ann into taking them back down to the playground before the race arrived. Actually they were running almost three quarters of an hour late by the time they got to us, so they really would have been fed up by ten mins to five! After they passed us the race had a further 25km or so still to ride on some of the most gruelling hills and bends that our local area can provide. I always find one of those bends + hill a challenge in the car.
