All gone
In my youth I celebrated a few first of Mays with friends. All night parties; games of diplomacy - then off up Arthur's Seat to watch the sun rise. Washing your face was meant to keep you beautiful, if you were a lady.
After a few years there were groups of Morris dancers as well: but always a good crowd.
I woke at 6.15 and out of curiosity went up to our attic. Closer zooms and this shot too showed an empty summit. It may be that the festivities were lower down the slope on the opposite side. But it did look deserted.
The day brightened up and after a quick shop spent most of the day in the garden and house planting and tidying up in the lovely weather. But as the afternoon wore on the haar moved in and the temperature dropped. I overdid it slightly as the back is needing attention this evening. Old age!
