May Day picnic....

...at Abinger Hammer today. Such positive supporters! And lots of wellies!

We had a day out in the Surrey Hills with friends and had planned to enjoy a nice walk across fields to Shere for a pre-booked lunch. However the weather forecast put paid to that idea, and then the lunch venue told us the kitchen had closed after we had waited over an hour for starters to arrive (only three out of four did though!)  Think something went badly wrong somewhere! 

Venue #2 was very good and we enjoyed a lovely drive home in the evening sunshine. Such a shame about the rain earlier. There is always so much planning involved in these village events and there must be many a disappointed committee when rain spoils the day. 

My extra shows extra supplies of fishing nets for the ever hopeful.
