Martyrs Cross
An eventful day today, went to the garden centre to order stones and pebbles for the front garden renovation. We are getting rid of our front grass and having pebbles with slate stepping stones so that could be a future blip when the job is complete.
Hayley was with us today, we had a catch up with her over coffee at the garden centre. She starts Fresher Week at Edinburgh University this week and she is so excited, it was good to see her so happy.
After I got home, decided to take a drive up the road a wee bit to this house that stands at the end of the country road before you go onto the main road, which if you drive south for long enough you will eventually reach Carlisle.
I went across the road behind a tree on my knees trying to get the shot I wanted and was quite pleased with the result.
They call this house the Martyrs Cross and why it got this name I'm not sure. Will have to do some detective work as I'm sure there has to be a story attached to it.
