Emptying pockets
Here's my mom emptying her pockets: two rocks, several pine cones, a rolled up newspaper, some pencils, sugar and Sweet'N Low packets, lipstick, handfuls of tissue. Earlier I'd found the Silverado mobile phone stashed in a bag with underwear, magazines, and some knickknacks.
On our walk, my mom had some interesting points of reference, none true (to my knowledge!). She pointed to
- the place where she'd fallen and had been tended to by people who came out of their houses to cover her in a blanket and call the police. She was then taken to a hospital to get xrays. She had to stay there several days, and then someone took care of her at home.
- the place Longshanks took his first walk.
- the place she used to always walk, when they first built the park.
As we approach Silverado she says the same thing now--"I don't have to sleep there, do I?"--and today I said yes and told her all the good things about it. That seemed to work! Fijate! Truth prevails!
