Beach retreat
Angus, who had been out half the night photographing the night sky, expressed a desire to go to Dunstanburgh Castle. So, after MrM had finished teaching his mandolin pupil (while Angus slept), and we'd had a spot of lunch, we set off for Low Newton to do the classic walk to the castle. The weather wasn't as good as had been forecast and, when we first arrived, the castle was hardly visible through the haar and it was cold! Luckily, we had taken warm clothes!
On the dunes, just outside Low Newton, there are some beach houses huts. Some of them are quite large, but I rather like this one - what a lovely place to spend a day or two! By the time we approached the castle the mist had lifted a little, allowing one or two shots (extra) before MrM and I turned back. We needed to get to Alnwick in time to pick up one or two essentials. Angus completed the final stretch of the walk and, being much younger and fitter than MrM and I, arrived back in Low Newton at almost the same time as us...
