Energy, Enthusiasm & Apathy

Election day today - for our local authority councillors.

I spent a total of 7.5 hours (split over 3 sessions) outside the Blipped polling place - handing out leaflets, talking to voters and talking to other party representatives. Oh, and a bit of dog sitting while their owners went in to vote.

Being Scotland in May, I got a bit of a sunburn and a bit of hypothermia. No snow, however. I also got sh*t on by a seagull. Must have been a large one.

Just before 8pm one of the candidates asked for the turnout figure - 23%.

Feet up now. I was standing on them all that time.
