Further planning
As anticipated, the All the Aires books arrived this morning. We are all set to do some real research and planning.
This morning I remembered to change my address details at Tesco back to our home address so that the latest vouchers do not go astray. I checked the collected voucher situation this morning and we have more than enough for the Chunnel tickets. It is however just a little too early to make the actual booking as we cannot book a return leg later than mid-February just now. We have decided when we want to go though and plan to leave Sanday early in September. With four stops on the way down to Folkstone so that we average around 200 miles a day. We will take a late night train (allowing us to tackle the M25 after the evening rush) and park up close to Calais for sleep on arrival, then move on in the morning to a nearby Aire for a lazy recuperative day.
It is all coming together!
But first we have a trip over to the big island at the end of this month. I am to have a birthday weekend, to go to the Folk Festival concert to see Eddi Reader. It is an expensive business, taking the van to Mainland, so we will have two or three nights away and do something or other interesting besides going to the gig and then tackle the supermarket before coming home again.
That in turn means that we must press on with a few minor repairs to the van. Frankly, I would rather we concentrated on getting our Central heating working again. I'm a bit cold now that the haar has come in!
