Peeling away...

another layer.  The peeling bark of the Paperbark Maple, Acer griseum which leaves  the red trunk perfectly clean  and blemish free. (I hope I have identified it correctly)  - another small wonder of nature. 
Much cooler when it clouded over today and we have the fire on tonight for the first time but after a couple of weeks of magnificent autumn weather we have been very fortunate indeed.
