Marsh orchid?
We moved apartments today, and are now staying in a place on the south coast of Galway Bay. We look forward to exploring the Burren. Though unfortunately, the forecast for the next week is unpromising, with rain of some sort forecast every day.
En route to our new place, we stopped off at Killarney National Park. We discovered where all the tourists have been hanging out, as it was quite busy, with visitors from around the globe. Our main reason for visiting was to have a walk, so we walked up to the Torc Waterfall. Early in the walk we saw several of these flowers, which I am sure are orchids, and think they are marsh orchids. The waterfall itself has been relegated to an extra.
After walking back down, we walked to the edge of the lake, where there were great views across the water (2nd extra). We decided to give the rest of the attractions a miss, as they were all too crowded for our liking.
We moved on, stopped for late lunch just outside Tralee, and then drove around some of the coast just north of there, before hitting the motorway and heading north to our lodgings.
