Whichever way you express it - it suddenly got soaked...

Spent all afternoon scraping the horrendous varnish off the neck of a Chinese made Epiphone "Les Paul" type. The owner couldn't stand the feel of it. The top coat was half a millimetre of hard high-gloss polyurethane, beneath that a thin coat of colour because mahogany can't look like mahogany unless it's tinted - under that another half millimetre of super rock hard stuff which played hell with the cutting edge of my scraper...

By 5:30 pm it was ready for the first coat of oil finish - see extra - by Tuesday it'll be so much more pleasant to play!
