Neglect

This is the very neglected burial ground of Shore Baptist Chapel, situated on the moors above the village of Cornholme, overlooking the Calder Valley.   My grandparents and other ancestors are buried here and, as a child, I occasionally attended this Chapel which had connections wth the  Chapel I normally attended.   Shore Chapel was founded in 1777 and due to dry rot was closed down 200 or so years later.   It is now just a shell (as can be seen in my extra) although the Sunday School has been converted into a dwelling.    The obelisk at the top of the steps is a War Memorial - also neglected.   Very sad.
