From yellow to blue...
Another long, long day in the field, making the most of the fine weather, though the wall-to-wall sunshine that was forecast didn't quite materialise, and much of the day was grey and breezy. Once again the site was showing the effects of the prolonged dry spell, and some plant species were wilting.
The Changing Forget-me-not is well adapted to dry conditions, and didn't appear to be suffering. The flowers are only a couple of millimetres across and are best appreciated using a hand lens or through the macro lens of a camera. They open a soft primrose yellow, fade to cream and then change to palest blue.
