Not much of a blip today.
It has been raining so I’ve just been catching up on timesheets, National Trust expenses, tagging photos, updating my photo diary, etc.
The photo is my office at home, and yes, you may well ask, who does need 4 computers (there are 2 laptops in the photo, as well as 2 PCs which you can just see under the desk). Well, one of the laptops belongs to the company I do consultancy work for, and I only need it to for accessing their corporate network. One of the PCs under the desk is my file server, which is ancient (the CPU, motherboard and case are all 17 years old) but it now happily runs Linux with over 4TBs of internal disc storage and it manages all the external backup discs too. The other PC under the desk is an old Windows XP machine, which runs a professional DVD Authoring package that won’t run on current versions of Windows and I don’t want to pay for an upgrade when it does everything I might ever want to do with DVDs.
The fan under the desk is an integral part of the PC cooling system. It needs to be turned on in the summer to blow air behind the PCs in order to stop them overheating !!!
