Settling in?

This photo of the windowsill in my mom's room at Silverado captures her  green-thumb spirit: no plant is too small to nurture; no plant ever goes unwatered (even the fake ones). My visits last Tuesday and Thursday were much the same as they have been. We have a pleasant outing then a bit of a rocky re-entry. On Thursday she said that she wouldn't go out with me anymore if I was going to bring her back there every time. I told at least two people who asked that my mom still doesn't recognize that she actually lives at Silverado.

Then yesterday Paul came home and said that their visit took a new turn. Apparently mom said something like, "So I've lived here two months now?" Wow. And she wasn't complaining about it. She was talking about assisting other residents and trying to help everyone "get along." I hope she continues to experience her time there as meaningful and useful as long as possible.
