A view from Jeanneb

Cairngorm

Yes we are on our way home but decided that we always just pass the Cairngorm National Park on the A9 so we would stop and take a closer look.

Not so much sun today and we had our first rain shower just as we were packing the car. It didn't last long and there were some amazing cloud formations over the mountains on our route to get petrol and pies in Lochinver. Extra - cloud on Beinn an Eoin.

Further north it brightened up more but we were ultimately heading south. Had hoped to see a cruise ship in Ullapool reported in the local newsletter but no sign. The idea of 900 extra bodies there makes the mind boggle.

Arriving in the National Park we decided to take the funicular up Cairngorm and this is the view from the viewing platform. You can see Loch Morlich in the bottom and yes there is a bit of snow as we are at around 3000 ft. It's a bit touristy but we didn't have much time and managed to get a cup of tea at the top. It's the first time I've worn my proper coat all holiday and it wasn't actually that cold despite the bit of snow.
A bonus when we got back to car park were Reindeer grazing on the hillside - yes Reindeer (actually I think I've seen them on Wilsden Walker's blips as her son lives and works in the park) who said I've seen enough deer, never. See reindeer in my Flickr album -here.]https://www.flickr.com/photos/16251802@N05/albums/72157683978941505]here. )
