Kaye and I deemed that today was fish n' chip day, being that the weather was superb. Blue skies, fluffy white clouds, light breezes, and the sun with enough punch to send one looking for sunscreen, and in my case a hat to preserve my continuing bare headedness.
We decided to go for a drive over to Venus Bay, about an hour from home. It had been a while since we had travelled over there, probably a couple of years or more. I was amazed how the roadside vegetation had grown over several years with all the excessive rain we've experienced over that time.
Stopped off at a number of fishing stations situated on the Tarwin River. The river was swollen with water from recent rain and looked fairly muddy. Beautiful though. We wandered up and down the river snapping away merrily. We didn't head over to the Venus Bay surf beaches as Kaye is now unable to negotiate the steps up and down to the beach.
Hunger pangs were snapping at our belly's signifying it was time to head to the fish n' chip shop. We drove back to Inverloch for that pleasure and sat on the waterfront eating and gazing out at the picture postcard beach, estuary channel and Bass Strait for an hour of so.
The photograph above was taken from one of the fishing stations on the river just out of Tarwin Lower township. Post processing in Lightroom 4.1 and Viveza 2.
Ahhh, such a lovely day.
