Is this my Dinner kind Sir?

This male Magpie has taken to helping itself to our Cat's food tray! So I thought that rather than have a confrontation? I would put the left over food on the plate away from where the Cat normally eats.
 Lo and behold.Both the Magpies visit the food and take it off to their offspring.
  Hopefully it might reduce the raids on the nests of the smaller birds?
