Grill 'Em Up!

The Italian Catholic Federation picnic was held today in Madera Canyon.  I thought this picture of Frank wearing his Pikachu hat might be appropriate for silly Saturday.  He wouldn't let anyone else near the grill.  I guess that's a 'man' thing.  Most of the other men in the club are much older and really couldn't care less if the younger guy did his thing.  Naturally, Italian sausage with grilled peppers and onions were thrown on there and for those of us who, for one sad reason or another can't eat it, there were burgers, too.

There was a fire crew parked in the lot when I arrived.  I thought maybe they were there as a precaution because we had a permit to grill.  The fire danger was posted as HIGH upon entering the canyon.  But these guys had come from Montana to help fight the wildfire a couple of weeks ago and were waiting for others from Montana to come down to rescue them (Naw, don't know why other Montanans were coming, but they were.)
