Kangaroo Dundee

My latest book. For anyone who hasn't seen the BBC 2 series Chris (Brolga) Barnes is an amazing person. After seeing a dead (roadkill) kangaroo he stopped to move the carcass of the road and found her baby was still in her pouch alive, that started him on the road to looking after these orphans.

Brolga is an aboriginal name for stork and Chris is very tall hence the nickname.

If you look up kangaroo sanctuary Alice springs you will find him, I have it on Facebook and some of the videos are lovely to watch

This man is mum to lots of Joeys he lived in a shack at first but as time has gone by he has built up a sanctuary and been able to build a hospital for them. He devotes his life to rescuing these babies when their mothers are killed on the road,

If you can get the book it's a fascinating read mine is from the library
Although I have seen the series I am still enjoying the book.
