bird in a boat

While we were sitting outside with our guests, the great white egret who likes to fish in our canal came along . . . and decided he might like to try out our boat! He did not stay there too long -he was only a few feet from us, but it was quite a sight. The Braden River is shallow with a muddy bottom, hence the brown, murky looking water! Sometimes when we are out in the boat the water looks rather blue, but Steve explained to me the water is reflecting the deep blue sky. 

Our friends leave tomorrow and I should be able to get back here and take a look at your journals :0)
