Cruise

On a day like today, the four hour ferry crossing to Mallaig and the five hour drive south to Glasgow was not a hardship. The 5am start wasn't great but the ferry was more like a cruise as it wended its way between the Cocktail Islands.
The highlands were magnificent and almost traffic free so that part of the journey passed quickly - including a steam train alongside the road at Tyndrum.
The next five hours to Lichfield were dull but passed quickly enough. The dog thought it was a long old day.
