The chandelier at Oxburgh is having its annual clean today and tomorrow.

Scaffolding is needed to access the chandelier - over 1500 pieces have to be carefully removed, handed down to the volunteers who carefully wash and dry each piece then lay it in labelled trays so that they know which piece came from where. This is all done while visitors are in the room, giving them a chance to see conservation and cleaning in action. There is a 'swear box' requesting a £1 donation from anyone contravening the 'Only Fools and Horses Free Zone' by mentioning the programme, Del Boy, Rodney, Uncle Albert etc!
