Melon de Roode Leeuw, Red lion Windmill, Gouda

Back blip Day 3
Not such a bright morning and after a night of rain and some thunder it was a damp start. We had breakfast and disappointed that there were no pancakes and we had nt spotted the boiled eggs wrapped up in a cloth until on the way out either. We still had a nice breakfast. We packed our bags and left them in the reception area and headed out. It was still drizzling but not too bad. I watched a man cycle by holding on to a huge parcel as big as his bike. A lady walked by with a tiny little dog who decided he was nt going to go the way the lady wanted and persuaded her to go along by the water. He skipped along with his tail wagging.
We walked down to the first windmill that looked like it had been turned into a house. We walked along the canal and looked at the traditional Dutch sailing boats .The Dutch barge is a flat-bottomed boat originally made of wood with large leeboards, I think, stored at the side of the boat, it all sounds double dutch to me, I've no idea about boats.
The windmill pictured is being restored. It was a mill used for grinding. Many of the mills in Holland have different uses and some are open to the public once a year on Milling Day which, this year, is on the 13th May. 
We went in the Chocolate Shop and had a coffee and a delicious cake before making our way to the Railway station. We saw lots of coots nesting on our way with an assortment of items used to make their nests. Some had tiny babies which they were feeding. 
We caught the train and in no time at all we were at the airport waiting for the Shuttle bus to take us to the Hotel. It absolutely poured and we were so lucky to be under cover.
We had a rest and then had dinner in the Restaurant. A very good buffet where you could eat as much as you wanted.
Great views from the Hotel room and a colourful sunset ended the day.
