Tulips as far as the eye can see.

Backblip, Day 4
We woke up to see more rain , lots of rain, but we had tickets to Keukenhof , the wonderful tulip gardens, so we could nt give it a miss. After a busy Breakfast with people that seemed to appear from no where ( we did nt hear a sound all night ) we got on the shuttle and headed for the airport. The driver dropped us off and it was just a short walk to the tulip decorated bus for the journey to Lisse.
The rain stopped, the sun shone and we walked through the large metal gates and straight away were hit by a fantastic array of tulips of all colours. We wandered along small path ways , wonderful Spring flower displays in all directions. Ducks with ducklings hid among the yellow tulips, coots fed their young, a blue tit flew into a small hole in a ceiling of one of the buildings to feed it's young, birds sang from the treetops, jays cried nosily at each other, Japanese tourists stopped at every opportunity to have photos taken with smiling faces and arms open wide.
Soo much to see and photograph. A few showers , umbrellas up adding to the colourful scene. A water fountain splashed in the lake , while people balanced on large, wooden lily pads. Swans and white ducks glided by. Children with toy windmills held them in the wind making the sails spin, people licked ice creams and munched on strawberries and cream. Characters in historic costumes walked by smiling and bowing their heads.
Music filled the air as we listened to Peter and the Wolf played by the Amsterdam string Quintet. Funny costumes with a large blue bird and cunning cat.
A look at the orchids all beautifully displayed. Up in a windmill with views of people below all taking selfies.
A walk back to the start past sleeping peacocks and gobbling turkey and cheeky goats climbing on pushchairs. Back to the bus and a downpour of rain, perfect timing :)
