Saline Shadows
It's imperative to make the most of these morning shadows, as all too soon we will be back into dull gray skies! Playing with my little dish of Murray River (Australia) pink flake salt was almost as much fun as a kaleidoscope, because every time I rearranged the salt, the reflection's "city" changed.
I experimented a bit with a blue glass bowl, too -- I should have tried some salt in it, as well.
Phil says that I'm easily amused; I prefer to think of myself as still having a child's curiosity about the natural world, and not necessarily wanting to know the scientific explanation for phenomena like this.
