Buzzing
Busy day, well the first half of it anyway. Up before the birds had even thought about it, and all ready to leave the house at 7.30am. Miracle number 1. Kids to garderie, yawning, then off to Castres to park up (on the first attempt, with little fuss and swearing despite the narrowness of the street - miracle number 2) and into my session with my new boss to sit in on one of her lessons.
The chap who was having the lesson seemed very nice, though he clearly hadn't been told I'd be showing up. Mainly the chat was about food and, although I had to bite my tongue very firmly to stop adding British English versions of reality to all the American English being taught, it was largely entertaining, and a lot more relaxed than I was expecting. Long chat with the student about pies. I think after my lecture on the subject he will be hastening to the UK to try all the world of pies has to offer.
Rapid journey back to the school to grab the kids for lunch, then Conor ate an omelette (miracle number 3). Once the kids were back in school a lazy afternoon mostly unfolded, save for a hasty trip to the bank to juggle some money around.
This evening saw a long set of tests (by me, and by Mr B remotely) to see whether we thought Katherine might have chipped her shin bone - as it seems unreasonable that it is getting more sore as the days pass - but we decided it is fine, and of course once she heard that news she said it felt much better. But nonetheless, her horseriding tomorrow is cancelled.
Here's a hornet buzzing around the wild mint. You could have had a couple of long-tailed tits (not seen them round here before) or a pretty pink flower, but it's not often I'm brave enough to get this close to a big buzzing insect, so there you go.
