Lesson Number Four . . .
As we drink our coffee, Jools informs me that before she ventured timidly into the wide, wild and wicked world, her mother taught her the three lessons a young lady needed to know if she wished to navigate life successfully:
1. Never talk to strangers, unless they're driving Porsches.
2. Beware of men in white coats. Or dark suits.
3. Always wear clean underwear.
Then, as a bonus, she offered Lesson Number Four, "Never, ever, wear your little sister's jeans, unless you plan to marry a plumber"
After a thoughtful pause, we sip coffee and talk about more pressing issues , , ,
