Flurries

Not the snowy kind -- avian flurries, with fights between Rufous males and Anna's males over who gets to enjoy the feeder, and in today's blip, a standoff between an Anna's a Rufous female on the left and an Anna's male on the right.

Despite what you see in the extra, which is the shot that followed today's blip, it was the larger male who backed down, leaving the victorious female to relish having the feeder all to herself! After a few sips, she exited to the left and the male entered from the right again, and settled himself in for a minute or two of heavy drinking.

Lunch with two dear friends at La Fiamma was a more peaceful scene, as we each had our own individual pizza.
