Waverley Abbey

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I had won a night away. Today was the day. Our inn was in Churt which is in the Surrey Hills. Although it is only about 20 miles from home it is an area that we didn't really know. We started with a quick trip to Farnham Castle then into town for fish and chips. Next was the ruins of 12th century Waverley Abbey. It was in surprisingly good nick for its age. This is when the rain started. After we booked in to the inn we took a walk up a mountain (well, it was probably more of a big hill) to get what would have been a magnificent view had the rain not been so torrential! Supper in Haslemere and a long soak in the gorgeous roll top bath with masses of bubblebath rounded off the day.
