Patio Extension?

Mrs L wants the patio extended out to the point where I placed the wooden box pallet. I'm not convinced. Okay we don't do nice borders - it's just had the brambles and ferns stripped out of it, hence the current war zone look so that won't be a great loss, but it'll be quite a large area of paving and perhaps too intrusive?
