Yellow Flag
Most of the day was spent at the Somersham LNR Bioblitz. Pete and I were both leading events so didn't manage to get as much recording done as we might have, but it's always good to enthuse local residents about their site. The weather started well, but by lunchtime grey clouds were looming and a prolonged heavy shower arrived, fortunately just as we'd finished our part of the day. Before the shower I managed to sneak a bit of time to walk round the reserve alone - the yellow flag irises were in perfect condition and I liked the colour contrast between the flower and the steely grey of the lake behind.
