Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge

After yesterday's quirky gig we stayed at the Lion Inn at Blakey Ridge. The tiny pimple at the highest point on the far ridge is the pub and I am hoping the panorama gives some indication of its remoteness. We had hoped to stay at the Lion last year whilst doing the Coast to Coast but it was fully booked so it was nice to get a room for the Saturday night.

After breakfast and after the dense fog had lifted we reprised six miles of the C2C walk across High Blakey Moor. We then had a leisurely drive home stopping for an amble in Kirbymoorside.
