Poppy (Saturday 20th May 2017)

I should have photographed the Oriental Poppies (Papaver Orientale) in Fluffy's front garden a week or so ago when they were fresh as they are now going over, although I daresay more will be on their way, and anyway I like seeing them like this.
Most of the gardens close by have these magnificent poppies, all grown from cuttings from each other's. I used to have them in a circular bed in the centre of my garden but forget now if mine were the first, from a village plant sale perhaps, or grown from a neighbour's cuttings, perhaps from May next-door-but-one. I no longer have them but may well start again from more cuttings for next year.
