gotcha
I woke early, I think I had on my ming to be up and out looking for the little owls in the fields behind our house, as spotted last night. I did get out there but no owls.
So plan B was go again this evening and after a bit of hanging about I spotted one fly low over the field and across the road. I drove my car to use it as a hide and spotted him in the grass. A bit more observing and I got his preferred route. From a tree, where the nest must be, across the field to an old oak from there across the road looking for worms.
After watching this repeated a few times I moved to near his nesting tree whilst he was away. Back he came and then obligingly took a rest on an outer branch, in the setting sun in full view of me attempting to hide.
So satisfying when a plan and a bit of fieldcraft works.
