Backblip
Had a lovely long lie in. Headed downstairs around 11.00am with Ele just moments behind me. David had been up since 9 and had cleared up the dinner dishes and set the kitchen table for breakfast. What a star!
After a full Scottish breakfast we all felt much better. E & K offered their services for any jobs around the house that needed doing so whilst D went to collect new lights for the hall and snug, K set about putting curtain poles up and Ele and I tackled the bombsite that was the games room.
It took us 3 hours to get it looking anyway decent! We cleared out empty boxes, unpacked a few more, tidied up the boxes that are still to be unpacked (dining room and study stuff that has nowhere to go until the new furniture arrives) and cleared the snooker table. Finally it is a functioning room again!
Indian takeaway and a beer completed the day's work and I went to bed a happy woman! :-)))
PS Today's blip is of a teddy we found in one of the boxes. He was found abandoned under Alan's bed in the old house and hastily shoved into a box on the day of the move. Ele and I found him in the games room. After wondering what to do with him my new, anti hoarding motto - if in doubt, throw it out - came to mind so I hardened my heart and shoved him in the rubbish bag.
Found him later sitting on the kitchen table with an accusing look in his eye! D had rescued him!!! Now I feel bad.
