Stackpole Heron
We woke up to mist and mizzle. We decided to head east and were fortunate to find the weather improved.
First stopping point was Carew Castle and Tidal Mill. Both well worth a visit. From there we travelled to the Stackpole estate and a walk round the Lily ponds and onto the coast. No sign of any otters but plenty of interest along the way.
The highlight of the visit was the return journey along a causeway. I was admiring the Lillies when a family pointed behind me to where this Heron had alighted. A quick change of lens and voila Blip sorted. It allowed me to get quite close. I have never been so close to a Heron before so lucky to get this before he flew off. The extras were also spotted on our walk.
Thoughts are very much with the Manchester victims and their families. My youngest son has just been to a concert in London and also Twickenham Sevens both could have easily been a target too.
