A Bird in the Hand...
...etc. This juvenile greenfinch must have got into our conservatory through the open window, and was flying about in a very confused manner. Happily, M managed to reach up and gently pick him up off the edge of the blind, cupped him in his hand and took him outside. Once he opened his hand to let him go, he sat there for a few moments and then took off calmly as if nothing had happened...and luckily for us no reminders of his presence were present on our sofa or table!
We have a lot of fledglings in the garden at the moment who are going through the bird seed at an incredible rate, we've had chaffinch, goldfinch, robin, blackbirds, starlings and great tits all feeding their young, lovely to see.
