Today's the day ......................... to cruise
One little perk of Will's meeting yesterday was that he received two complimentary tickets for a cruise on Windermere. They were only valid for today, so when I picked him up this afternoon - we just had to go and make use of them, didn't we?
Despite the fact that we live in the Lake District, it's a while since we've been for a Windermere cruise. It's always the way that you never do the touristy thing in your own patch. I have to say though that it was glorious out there today - so no wonder that it's a popular thing to do. We were on MV Tern and we went on a 90 minute cruise - down to Lakeside and back to Bowness. This is the MV Swan, a sister ship to the Tern, that we passed on the way.
We shared our cruise, at least on the way down to Lakeside, with a large party of Japanese tourists (see extra). The Japanese love the Lake District with a passion that is second to none - and are always to be seen taking photographs and being herded round by their enthusiastic guides ....................
