My Bear Cub

Been a while since I've been able to catch her candidly like this. The last couple of years she's not been keen on having me point the camera at her for any length of time.

She was aware I was making her portrait, but totally didn't react in her usual "bouncer hands" manner. Maybe she's growing up... I wish I could stop her from doing that.

That's the attraction of photography sometimes, I think. To stop time's onward motion. In this case to preserve her in aspic. I approach the oncoming teen years with ever increasing dread...
