Oh I do like to be beside the seaside!
It was another gloriously hot and sunny day, so G, M and I took ourselves off to our nearest beach today which is only 3.5 miles away at Weybourne. It's a shingle beach, but has great cliffs to walk along and reeds where the birds were singing their hearts out. Just perfect to walk along hearing a skylark one side, the steam train which runs through the village, and waves lapping gently onto the beach the other side, whilst watching Sand Martins swooping and looking along a beach that stretched as far as the eye can see. The main picture is of flowers on the cliff edge which G tells me is Sea Thrift. I've attached two extras of some Linnets and the beach as seen from up on the cliff.
Weybourne has deep water close to land and a vast shingle beach and is known as an ideal spot to launch an amphibious landing and attack. There is a unattributed quote which says:
'He who would Old England win,
Must at Weybourne Hope begin'
