Holker Hall

Mum and Dad are staying with us at the moment. Mum can't walk too far any more so we opted for morning in the gardens at Holker Hall, pronounced Hooker. The gardens are absolutely lovely and interestingly arranged into different areas. The paths are generally flat and even and there are not too many steps for Mum to have to cope with. There is also a step free wheelchair route. All the gardens were well endowed with benches to rest on and most were thoughtfully located in the shade which given the unusually high temperatures today was a blessing. There are some amazing and unusual plant specimens. We rounded off the visit with a trip to the cafe for a cold drink.
