Elgin
The birthday meal in Elgin last night was a great success. The Drouthy Cobbler meal was excellent and so was the company. The warm weather held for us to enjoy a walk to and from the restaurant without resorting to coats or umbrellas.
However it was a different story this morning as we left Elgin for home. The temperature must have halved overnight and it was dark and gloomy with the threat of rain.
It was a mistake to think lightening couldn't strike twice on two consecutive days of travel, but it did when our bus broke down in Nairn and we had to complete the journey to Inverness on a 'round the houses one'. We saw Inverness airport for the first time.
Thankfully we made the Edinburgh connection, but it did seem a very long journey before we got home- 7 hours travelling and most of it sitting , made for two numb bums.
This blip is one of a controversial new statue in the High Street of Elgin. I have added a description of it in an extra image.
