Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A fruitful day

Perfect weather today - not too hot. Washing dried on the line in minutes. We both went to the gym, though one of us was very reluctant.

Elizabeth took Archie out at 11am, earlier than usual, and they were on the go the whole day. They walked MILES (actually 10.6km), but I'm sure Archie did twice that. No wonder he's having a wee rest here! Photo by Elizabeth.

His absence enabled us to get on with lots of things - sorting out what clothes to take, tidying the house and then gardening in the afternoon, with lots of sitting around in between. We're actually super organised (famous last words) with a day spare. This has never happened before, but it's because JR is retired this time. Much better.

Archie's home now. He's not exhausted enough to refrain from poking about in my open and half packed suitcase and pinching some socks (there are other items, but he loves socks). He always wants to be discovered (no fun if nobody chases him) and so there he was, standing in the hall with socks stuffed in his mouth, willing me to look up from my iPad, spot him and give chase. Which I did.
