Surrounded

Anthericum baeticum, a compact relative of the Alpine Anthericum liliago, St Bernards Lily, somewhat dwarfed by the riot of penstemon flowers surrounding it.  This sunny raised bed was planted up last year with plants that I hoped would be fairly drought tolerant.  All the chosen plants have done well but the two penstemons have done rather too well for some of their neighbours.

Jamie on the mend which is great.  Car collected from hospital car park this morning.  More rain overnight to help everything on the allotment grow - which includes the weeds of course :-/  French beans, second lot broad beans, butternut squash and courgette all planted out today.  Still cutting asparagus and first pods of peas and broad beans have set so there's tasty stuff to look forward to :-)
