Beach at St. Andrews
We were up at 0'crickey. 00 to get my nephew, Hamish, to a school Rugby match. Whilst the match was played Fiona and I took the dogs down to the smaller beach at St. Andrews to give the dogs a run.
It was just after sunrise, the light was superb and we spent a happy hour tossing balls into the sea for dogs. Maera has never been that interested in balls but remembers the joys of fishing and was off beach hunting. She's a determined mutt and managed to avoid the claws to pick up a crab.
There is a small harbour kept mostly above the low tide level with a lock. The sluice gates opened just as we were heading back to the car causing the water to cascade in a torrent into the basin at low tide. What a wonderful sight.
Although he had sprained his wrist in the rugby match, Hamish, had to go straight to a Harris Hockey match as he has just been chosen to train towards the Commonwealth Games. He's only 15 years of age and it makes me very proud to see him playing with and against his seniors.
Back to the house again where we prepared a really tasty pasta with the chantrelles we picked yesterday, enjoyed in the company of our Aunt and Uncle. My brother in law, Ian, also turned up so it was almost full house for Fiona and the evening was very pleasant.
