Keeping People Safe

Phew! We have just arrived for an overnight in Hereford for Hay festival tomorrow after an epic 10 hour journey from Scotland, courtesy of Virgin trains and several bus coaches.
We could have been in New York in less time. 
The reason? Bank Holiday travel and rail repairs. 

This morning in Queen St station, Glasgow we are greeted by four police armed with machine guns. 
Now we learn that Hay festival had police with machine guns there too.

Today Bank Holiday Monday would have been the prime terrorist target.

As for today's photo this was a young female piper piping her heart out in Buchanan St. 
Saw her as we walked from Queen St. station to Central station.
